Dr. Colleen MacInnis MD
Dr. Colleen MacInnis is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a highly trained MOHs Surgeon. Dr. MacInnis graduated from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1998 and finished her Dermatology residency in 2002. She is an expert in treating disorders of the skin, hair and nails. Her expertise encompasses performing dermatological surgeries, specifically the highly skilled microscopic skin cancer surgery, MOHs.
During her training, Dr. MacInnis worked directly under the guidance of world renowned pathologist, Dr. Neil Crowson. As a MOHs surgeon, Dr. MacInnis is exceptionally trained in reading pathology. She began practicing as a Dermatologist in Oklahoma, eventually moving and settling in Central Florida in 2007. Known for her caring bedside manner and warm smiles, Dr. MacInnis has quickly established a strong, positive reputation amongst the Central Florida community. As a MOHs surgeon, Dr. MacInnis has performed over 10,000 cases involving skin cancers of the face, ears and nose, as well as, extensively involved skin cancers of the body. Her exceptional knowledge and skill level has led her to perform some of the most complicated and involved skin cancer cases.
While practicing in Oklahoma, Dr. MacInnis was involved in several research programs including: The Testing of the Dermatoscope in the Evaluation and Diagnosis of Melanoma and Medical Treatment Agents for Psoriasis. She has also published research involving the Chemical and Medical Treatment of Melanoma and Basal Cell Carcinoma. In addition, Dr. MacInnis is an active participant in the training and education programs of Physician Assistants. Prior to practicing medicine, Dr. MacInnis was a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Oklahoma, where she spent almost 10 years working as a veterinarian on large farm animals.
Dr. Colleen MacInnis focuses on high quality patient care and patient satisfaction as her primary goals. Dr. MacInnis is an American Board Dermatology Diplomat, a Fellow of the American Society of MOHs Surgeons and is licensed to practice medicine through the Florida Board of Medicine.
Dr. George vonHilsheimer MD
Dr. George vonHilsheimer is a highly experienced skin cancer surgeon who trained at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, DC. He was among the first physicians in the country to become double board certified in both dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr. vonHilsheimer is a long standing Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, and has performed thousands of skin cancer surgeries with excellent outcomes.
Dr. vonHilsheimer has held dermatology teaching faculty appointments at the University of Florida, Emory University, the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine, and Martin Army Hospital. He won numerous awards for teaching residents.
Dr. vonHilsheimer grew up in DeLand, FL. He graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and flew Cobra and Apache attack helicopters for the US Army prior to attending medical school. He is a decorated veteran of three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan (one as a pilot and two as a flight surgeon) and was also serving in the Pentagon during the terrorist attack of 9/11/2001, where he treated many wounded patients. Following his military career, Dr. vonHilsheimer entered private practice as a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon in the Florida Panhandle and Florida Keys for 10 years before joining MacInnis Dermatology.
Above all else, “Dr. V”, as his patients often refer to him, prides himself on caring for his patients the same way he would want any member of his own family cared for.
Dr. vonHilsheimer has four children. In his spare time, he enjoys singing and playing guitar. He has performed at numerous venues to raise money for charity.
Dr. Shana Schroeder DO
Dr. Schroeder was born and raised in Maryland. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Loyola College in Baltimore where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with minors in chemistry and economics. She then went on to earn a Masters in Medical Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia. In 2006 she moved to Florida and obtained her doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After finishing medical school in 2010, Dr. Schroeder completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and in Dermatology through the Palm Beach Consortium for Graduate Medical Education in West Palm Beach. She served as Chief Resident during each of these residencies. She continued to practice in South Florida until until joining the practice in 2020. Dr. Schroeder is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, as well as, a member of the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Schroeder enjoys practicing general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She sees patients of all ages and treats a diverse spectrum of skin diseases including skin cancer, psoriasis, rosacea, hyperhidrosis, eczema, and acne. Dr. Schroeder makes it her priority to go the extra mile in the care of her patients. She strives to listen and understand the needs of each patient, educate them on disease processes and procedures, and then come up with a treatment plan together.
Dr. Nicole Swenson DO
We are excited to welcome Dr Nicole Swenson, to MacInnis Dermatology, in July 2022. Nicole Swenson, D.O. is a Board-certified physician who specializes in cosmetic and general dermatology for men and women. In her four years of experience, she has become passionate about providing excellent care to her patients. Dr Swenson graduated from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, she went on to earn her medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Following medical school, she completed a residency in West Palm Beach, FL, earning her board certification in Internal Medicine. Dr. Swenson completed a two-year research fellowship serving as a sub-investigator for numerous clinical trials. She then went on to complete a residency in Dermatology with the KCU-GME/ADCS Dermatology Residency of Orlando. Dr. Swenson earned board certification for Dermatology in 2018 and is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr Swenson is not only a physician, but also a published author, as she has co-authored several articles in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and cosmetic dermatology textbooks. In her extra time, she to enjoys a yoga class, and is enjoying learning the game of golf. As a native of Iowa, Dr. Swenson now considers Florida home.
Sarah Yoho PA-C
Sarah is a Nationally Board Certified Physician Associate and has been with MacInnis Dermatology since August 2012. She was born and raised in Florida, growing up on the East coast near Cocoa Beach. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Florida and her Master’s degree from the Physician Assistant program at South University in Tampa.
Sarah specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair, and nail disorders. Working closely with Dr. MacInnis she provides the highest quality skin cancer care. She is experienced in dermatologic surgery with an emphasis on excisions and also works in conjunction with Dr. MacInnis assisting with all aspects of MOHs surgery.
Dedicated to providing outstanding, comprehensive Dermatological care, Sarah treats every patient with kindness and compassion. Her philosophy is to provide high quality patient centered care while creating a warm environment with a smile. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys dabbling in the arts including taking film, theatre, and improv classes. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends and husband. She enjoys good humor and believes one should laugh as often as possible.
She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates, Florida Association of Physician Associates, Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Associates and the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates.
Tonya Terwilinger PA-C
Tonya is Board Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Associates (NCCPA). She joined MacInnis Dermatology in the summer of 2018. Tonya was born and raised in Ohio. She attended Ohio University graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences/Pre-Medicine in 1998. In 2003, she graduated from Kettering College of Medical Arts with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies, Cum Laude. Tonya has been practicing as a Dermatology PA for 15 years.
Tonya specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair, and nail disorders. Working closely with Dr. MacInnis she provides the highest quality dermatology care. With her wonderful bedside manner, she prides herself on providing patient centered care and building strong relationships with her patients. Her goal is to provide excellent dermatology care to our local patient population.
Prior to moving to Florida, she resided in Arizona. Tonya and her husband moved to Florida in 2007 and live in the Wesley Chapel area. Their daughter is their pride and joy. They spend their free time at Disney and enjoy all things Disney. She has two English labs, and a Maine Coon kitty to complete her household.
She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates, Florida Academy of Physician Associates, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Associates.
Chris Narsesian, APRN
Chris joined Macinnis Dermatology in April 2023. He was born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii. After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors in Healthcare Administration, he served six years in the US Army which brought him to various locations including Seattle Washington, Heidelberg Germany and Afghanistan. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marian University and his Master of Science in Nursing from South University. Chris is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Chris specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin, hair, and nail disorders. He enjoys seeing patients of all ages and treats skin diseases such as eczema, acne, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis, hair loss, skin cancer and cosmetic treatments.
He is an active member of the Dermatology Nurse Association and the Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners. Chris prides himself on not only providing the best and most up to date dermatologic care but also making every patient comfortable throughout their visit.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys traveling with his wife, spending time at the beach, and visiting family. He is dedicated to serving our country in the US Army Reserve.
Carolina Aguilar
Carolina Aguilar has been a dedicated aesthetician since 2009, specializing in medical aesthetics with a focus on advance anti-aging treatments. Her expertise is in skin resurfacing, the correction of brown spots and redness, non-surgical skin lifting and tightening, fibroblast therapy and permanent hair reduction., Carolina is passionate about helping her patients achieve their best skin. She takes great pride in building trust with each client, creating lasting relationships and alway prioritizing patient satistaction as her ultimate goal.
Carolina’s training was completed in Tennessee and she is also a certified aesthetic instructor. She holds a wide range of certification in advanced aesthetic procedutes including, electrology, laser technology, Hydrafacial, CoolSculpting, SculpSure, IPL, laser hair removal, microneedling with PRP, Sofwave, RF microneedling and more.
Originally from. Columbia, Carolina moved to the United States at the age of 12. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling, watching true crime documentaries and has a deep love for cats. One of her long-term dreams is to open an animal sanctuary and dedicate her life to rescuing and caring for animals in need.
Ana Maya Cortes
Ana began her medical career in 2013, which allowed her to work closely with Medical Doctors, Physician Associates, and Nurse Practitioners in all aspects of Dermatology. This provided her insight and expertise in medical and aesthetic dermatology. Her curiosity was piqued to understand more about how to obtain healthy and youthful skin, while on her own quest to have clear radiant glowing skin. This led her to continue her education and complete her degree in Medical Aesthetics in 2023.
As an aesthetician, Ana is committed to providing patient centered care and takes pride in connecting with her patients. She customizes every treatment ensuring they are precise and effective. Her confident and personable demeanor provides a relaxed and comfortable environment, where patients can gain confidence and achieve their skin goals.
Her intention is to provide high quality services, specializing in advanced chemical peels, micro-needling, micro-needling with PRP, facials, and personalized anti-aging treatments. Ana is skilled in providing treatments for sensitive skin, acne prone skin, or skin prone to scar.
Beyond the scope of work, Ana delights in family time with her husband, who was her high school sweetheart, her two children and dog. She enjoys visiting extended family, going to comedy shows and Latin dancing with her husband.
Nichole Holoman MBA
In 2010 Nichole joined MacInnis Dermatology, working in the clinical department as a Medical Assistant. She quickly advanced to Clinical Supervisor, then progressed to her current roll as Practice Manager in 2013. Nichole has approximately 6 years of clinical experience working with Dr MacInnis and various dermatologists, MOHs, and plastic surgeons. Her experience includes general and procedural dermatology, including medical coding.
In 2007 she graduated from the University of Miami with a BS in Biology minoring in chemistry. After graduation, she began working with Dr MacInnis and found great satisfaction working with patients. Through her experience working as a Medical Assistant and progressing into a leadership role, she found her true passion. Nichole obtained her MS in Executive Health Administration from the University of Central Florida. She is a board member of the Association of Dermatology Administrators and Managers (ADAM) and serves on the education and leadership committee. Nichole is also a member of American College of Healthcare Executive (ACHE).
As a compassionate individual, she is committed to making a difference by creating a focused, positive, efficient and compassionate work environment. When Nichole is not spending time with her daughter, fiancé or fur baby, she appreciates traveling to new destinations to soak up the art and culture. But mostly, she relishes in culinary diversity during her travels.
Shari Lurie
Shari was born in Long Island, New York, grew up in Greenwich, CT, and graduated with a B.A. from Syracuse University. She spent 14 years in Scottsdale, Arizona as a manager for several high-end retail shops where she became impassioned to deliver excellence in customer service. In South Florida in 2010 she began her career in Dermatology as the Front Office Supervisor and Patient Relations Liaison.
Shari joined MacInnis Dermatology in 2018 as the Patient Relations Liaison and has rapidly grown her leadership skills to become the Aesthetic Supervisor. Shari became increasingly eager to further develop her leadership skills and become more involved with the overall operations of the business and became the Assistant to the Director of Operations. She is enthusiastic to cultivate a positive experience for patients and the MacInnis Dermatology team. Shari is committed to maintaining a good workout regimen and enjoys spending time relaxing with her husband and visiting her two children.
