Medical Receptionist
This is an exciting job opportunity for an outgoing professional, who wants to work in a caring team environment to take care of patients! As a Medical receptionist at MacInnis Dermatology you will communicate with different teams members from the patient care team. With a happy smiling demeanor you will greet patients in person and by phone, while always reflecting the standard and level of care the patient can expect to receive. Medical Receptionist Duties
- Greeting visitors
- Scheduling
- Answer phone, retrieve messages, return messages, check all emails and faxes, handle incoming and outgoing patient records
- Assist patient with any needs or questions
- Be knowledgeable of all office financial policies and scheduling rules for all providers.
- Gather patient information, maintain a smooth patient flow, and always be a team player and respectful to co-workers.
- Create patient form packets
- Stay current with insurance plans
- Schedule patient appointments, referrals, triage patient over phone, and verify insurance
- Communicate with billing
- Check in patient, check-out patient, process payments
- Maintain office supply list, stock appropriate areas, and maintain a clean patient lobby and bathroom
- End of day reports, balance, batch out, and finalize reconciliation reports and ledger
- Get change, make bank deposits, and collect mail
- Travel to specified facility
- Light travel between offices to fit business needs
- Maintain all rules and regulations according to ACHA, HIPAA, OSHA, and any other regulating organizations that impact our practice.
- Correspondence
- Stocking supplies Sorting and sending mail Any other assigned duties
- Must be able to pass extensive background check.

Medical Assistant
At MacInnis Dermatology we are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant with a positive attitude who will join us in our goal to achieve the highest level of quality care. Our practice strives in patient care and we value our employees and are very proud of our positive work environment.
The Certified and or Registered Medical Assistant will assist the provider(s) with patient care. They will create an atmosphere that reflects the level of standards of care that patients can expect to receive from MacInnis Dermatology. The provider(s) entrusts the goodwill of patients success in this position, the assistant must be cheerful, friendly, polite, tactful, and professional in appearance and manner at all times. They will be able to communicate with the provider and patient and be mindful of patient confidentiality. They will be able to evaluate and respond to a patient’s needs and relay the provider’s instructions. The successful medical assistant will be a team player and respectful of their co-workers.
Responsibilities
Report to clinical supervisor, practice manager, or other designee.
Perform procedures under supervision of medical provider.
Assist medical provider in exam rooms.
Assist with surgical procedures including MOHS, Excisions, Biopsy, and similar.
Escort patients to exam rooms, triage patients, measure vital signs and document all information in patient’s chart.
Give instructions to patients and educate patients as instructed by medical provider.
Ensure all related reports, labs and information are scanned and available in patient’s chart prior to their appointment.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and prepare sterilization as required.
Take phone messages, provide feedback and answers to patient/provider and pharmacy calls.
Process messages from patients and front office staff to medical providers.
Maintain all logs and required checks including refrigerator temperatures, autoclave, expired medications, and etc.
Be familiar and compliant with OSHA, Blood Borne Pathogen standards and HIPPA privacy standards.
All other duties as assigned by clinical supervisor, practice manager, or other designee.
Knowledge
Medical assistants must have knowledge of:
Healthcare field and medical specialty
Medical Terminology and ICD-10 codes
Grammar, spelling and punctuation
Basic computer knowledge and EMR (EMA)
Dermatology Experience Preferred
Requirements
Certified/Registered Medical Assistant must be willing and able to travel to Leesburg and The Villages location as required to fit business needs.
High school diploma and formal Medical Assisting training
Good verbal and communication skills
The ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug screen.
